Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has attacked Israeli targets, including a designated “safe zone” in Gaza, as the nadir of Israeli settlements has been revealed. Several Palestinians have claimed responsibility for the attack, but a military source told the Jerusalem Post that they were killed and others were injured. The alleged attack came six months after an anti-Israeli protest in which more than 6 million Palestinians entered Gaza. The report said Israeli attacks on Israel’s two-year old Palestinian children and children were “unprovoked,” as it was reported. Israel also said it has no plans to expand its military presence in the area, which includes areas that provide shelter to more young children. CNN’s Ben Chaney contributed to this report.
