Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has said he used Nigerian doctors to help his family after a scandal that led to the resignation of the governor after the president went to Brazil. But a former media aide to the late president, Garba Shehu, said the hospital he went to with his wife was a sign of what might be happening in Lagos. Garba Shehu, the governor’s wife, told reporters that the incident was unrelated to the attacks that broke out in March. He also praised Nigeria’s medical system for the help given to Nigerians by the Nigerian government. “If it had not broken down, I wouldn’t have been there,” he said.
